"My research on dogfolk took me to the familar plains of the north. There I seeked out a good friend of mine whom I hadn't seen for quite some time to ask for help with my entry on her kin. She made a rather poor attempt at hiding her excitement at seeing me again, which I found rather charming. The similarity in our appearance often makes me ponder if our two subspecies are more closely related than is generally thought. But I digress.
The dogfolk live in the cold northern region beyond the barrier mountains. They live a nomadic life, often wandering the region after food. Their kind is mostly known for being fierce fighters. Some nobles disregard their culture and intelligence by calling them savages, which I assure they are not! The dogkind have a strong sense of honor and go out of their way to help strangers. They expect strangers in their land to honor their traditions as well - anyone trying to take advantage of their hospitality will quickly get kicked into the wilderness.
Despite living in near complete seclusion from the more 'civilized' regions of the south the dogfolk have even managed to make a positive impact in several stories in the south. One particular story tells of the chieftain of the icehound clan who became a shield to seal the shepherd of nightmares away, thus saving the world. This is an important story for dogfolk also and the more notable members often get a tattoo in their honor."
