2016 Monster Girls Challenge - Cyclops by LukkiStarr 2016 Monster Girls Challenge - Cyclops by LukkiStarr
Day 19.

"While researching cyclopes I found tales that would link them to the floating eyes that are so common in our world. As we're all familiar, the floating eyes have been around for as long as we have recorded history. We do not know where they come from or what purpose they serve and most of us don't even pay attention to them. They are part of our everyday life and they never get on our way. What isn't as known to everyone is that mages throughout the times have captured those eyes, converting them into mobile spies and alerting the mages. This always altered their appearance - usually with bat wings - making it easy to tell benign floating eyes from spies of wizards.

This brings us back to the cyclopes. While I found no solid historical recording of such, suriving tales suggest that the cyclopes are people merged with a floating eye to create an able-bodied and loyal servants and bodyguards. The eye could still provide vision to a magical mirror, crystal ball or a similar magical device and the binding magics would keep the cyclopes content. Those of us familiar with the one-eyed people these days know that they no longer serve any mages or otherwise to such degree and there is no reason to worry about a malevolent wizard working through them.

Some might consider having a single, large eye a weakness. Disregarding the aforementioned advantages to a controlling spellcaster, the cyclopes have a lot of magical energy surrounding their eye, protecting it in many ways and providing vision of things that many of us cannot even imagine! It is said that they can even see the flow of magic itself. Should they desire to increase their magical aptitude, their eye often becomes a central theme among the spells. I theorize that while most other people have their center of magic close to the center of their bodies, for cyclopes this same energy is centered in their eye.

While going over my papers on the subject my mind kept drifting to one particular journal. Despite most likely been written by a crazy individual I couldn't help but consider the truthfulness of the claims within; the journal suggested that floating eyes are being used by something greater than us to view our world. It would make sense that the same would apply to cyclopes. I shudder to imagine a being such as that - seeing our world through so many numerous perspectives."

A real cutie - well done!  :)  Maybe make the critters on her case one-eyed too?  :)

Hehe, thank you. Perhaps the stickers could be, although I imagine they'd be more normal if they're assumed to live alongside non-cyclopes. :)
